About TAC
TAC Technologies was
founded in 1974 as a consulting company to the aerospace industry.
While initially the company provided consulting for thermal design
of spacecraft, emphasis shifted to the development and
distribution of NEVADA, a software tool for thermal radiation
analysis. NEVADA was the first commercially available ray tracing
code for radiation analysis.
Today NEVADA is the outgrowth of more than 33 years of research
and development in the field of computer simulation of the
electromagnetic theory of radiation. Early versions of the code
were run on large mainframe and Cray supercomputers. As other
platforms became available, the code was ported to run on each.
NEVADA was ported to the PC when IBM first introduced its new PC
in 1981. While early versions of the code were limited to small
models and long run times, the accuracy of the results were
outstanding. Through years of continuous development and
improvement, NEVADA has grown into a fast and powerful design and
analysis tool.
NEVADA has been used by the aerospace industry for nearly three
decades both domestically and internationally. Hundreds of
satellites, interplanetary missions, and other types of spacecraft
have been accurately designed and analyzed with NEVADA. It is this
long and successful track record that makes NEVADA the most
trusted radiation code available.
In 1988, TAC Technologies moved from Brea, CA to Incline
Village, NV. We are a small group of engineers dedicated to proving the
best thermal radiation analysis tools available.
